Relatively new to the area,
internationally known sculptor/painter, Jo Robinson, presents a
small collection of sculpture and paintings in The Art House for the
month of August, 2008.
"Solid acrylic is an exciting material to work with and a delight to
view in home or office. These acrylic sculptures are best shown with
a light source above or below since light follows the cut edges .
The pastel/tissue collage paintings are subtly different from
direct painting and offer layers to the viewer. For this show I
concentrated on the figure, however, I feel the combination of
tissue with pastel fun with any subject.
I hope you enjoy these works as much as I enjoyed creating them."

Several sculptures and many paintings in hotels, offices and private
homes remain in Barbados where Jo Robinson resided for several years
before moving to the Carolinas. Work was shown there in galleries,
restaurants and private showings over the years.
Before moving to Barbados, Jo Robinson was a founding member of the
Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria Virginia; a member of
Touchstone Gallery, Washington D.C.; a founding member of Arlington
Arts & Crafts Center, Arlington, Virginia.
Jo Robinson has shown in galleries in Virginia, Washington,
Maryland, New York, Illinois, Ontario, England, Barbados and most
recently in South and North Carolina.

Now a permanent resident in North Carolina, Jo Robinson is available
for commission work and requests.
